Independence Day Message
"Dear Friends as we prepare to celebrate the 243rd anniversary of our nation’s independence I invite you to take this time to not only celebrate our past, but also look towards our future, a future that we will create together.
What inspires me most is the unity, strength and hope that exists within our Phienixville Community.
Whether in times of joy or sadness, abundance or scarcity, we come together as so much more than a collection of people. We are a community, a family that is determined to rise together.
Phoenixville is home to an abundance of dynamic and amazing people. Similar to those early patriots who once gathered just miles from where we stand today, we join together from different backgrounds and walks of life, United by a belief, a simple truth: that we are all created equal, that we are all endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Our success as a community is in our understanding that although these truths are self-evident they are not self-executing. We join together with generations of Phoenixvillians who have all contributed, in some way, to ensuring those rights are extended to all
That the benefits of our community are multiplied and shared, widening the circle of opportunity
Today especially we pay tribute to those who care for each of us, members of our armed services, police officers, fire fighters, first responders, nurses and teachers.
We honor all those who serve the cause of human dignity, in any capacity, not just by hoisting a flag, but by lifting up our neighbors. Not just by pausing in silence, but by using our own voices to amplify those of our communities most vulnerable.
May God, the originating spirit of community, continue to bless you and your families. The Phoenixville Community and the United States of America."
