This past weekend, the holiday season hit Phoenixville.

On Friday, December 7th, Christmas came to town, as the annual Christmas Parade and winter wonderland village made its way through Bridge Street.

Hosted by Phoenixville First and the Kiwanis Club, the parade saw some familiar faces and surprise guests greet the community with festive holiday cheer.

There were performances by marching bands, riding of classic cars, appearances from beloved holiday characters, and of course, Santa Claus!

After the parade down Bridge Street, the annual lighting of the Christmas tree took place.

Surrounded by an excitable crowd, Mayor Peter Urscheler lit his first Christmas tree as the Mayor of Phoenixville, and thus, the Christmas season had officially begun.

From lights, to Christmas Shopping, and holiday cheer from ole’ Jolly St. Nick, the Christmas Parade was another banner night for the community of Phoenixville.
