Phoenixville Oktoberfest

A special celebration was recently held, and a special guest helped to mark the occasion!

On Saturday, October 13th, Phoenixville celebrated the fall season with the first annual Oktoberfest Beer festival!

Courtesy of the Phoenixville Regional chamber of commerce, the public library and Bistro on Bridge, the festival saw the community come together for a fun-filled day.

With beer provided by Sly Fox Brewery, the festivities were as authentic as a German Oktoberfest celebration.

With Live music from an accordion player, to authentic dress in Lederhosen and Dirndl (DEERN-dul), the community was in high spirits.

With authentic Oktoberfest food such as brats and Bavarian pretzels, guests dined with great beer which included selections imported directly from Germany.

To mark the occasion, Sly Fox had a limited firkin of their special Chester County Brown Ale, brewed exclusively for the day.

To tap the keg, Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urscheler was on hand. Dressed in his finest Lederhosen, the mayor tapped the keg and began the festivities.

In all, it was another banner day in Phoenixville, filled with community engagement and neighborly cheer. Prost!
