Phoenixville Chamber of Commerce December Meeting

At the December meeting of the Phoenixville Chamber of Commerce, the docket was full of generosity and enjoyment. Run by Chamber President Jessica Capistrant and held at the Colonial Theater, sponsors were thanked for their contributions for another great year. The Phoenixville Police Association was awarded for their shop with a cop event, in which they take local children out on an all expenses paid shopping trip during the holiday season. Phoenixville High School Choir Director Mrs. Kate Nice was able to present a plethora of students from the district to perform an acapella showcase for the crowd. 2018 Christmas Parade

This past weekend, the holiday season hit Phoenixville. On Friday, December 7th, Christmas came to town, as the annual Christmas Parade and winter wonderland village made its way through Bridge Street. Hosted by Phoenixville First and the Kiwanis Club, the parade saw some familiar faces and surprise guests greet the community with festive holiday cheer. There were performances by marching bands, riding of classic cars, appearances from beloved holiday characters, and of course, Santa Claus! After the parade down Bridge Street, the annual lighting of the Christmas tree took place. 2018 Firebird Festival

This past weekend marked the 15th year Phoenixville celebrated its history with the iconic celebration of the mythical Phoenix! Designed to signify the rebirth of the town and to remember the Phoenix Steel Mill, the Firebird Festival gathers people from all around to burn the giant wooden Phoenix. Food vendors and shop owners set up booths surrounding Veterans field, where the event took place this year. Also, the Phoenixville Police, Paramedics, and Fire Department were all in attendance, to make sure the event was safe and fun for everyone involved!
