Next Wednesday is the 4th of July, and we have your Fireworks plans already covered. As in prior years, Phoenixville’s fireworks show will take place at Friendship field…. which is located on the corner of Fillmore Street and Franklin Avenue. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 6 PM for refreshments, which includes carnival food favorites like funnel cake and French fries. The Fireworks display will begin at 9 and should run to 9:15. "Follies and Fountains" Summer Offer

With the summer season officially here, Winterthur, in conjunction with Longwood Gardens, is offering a program called “Follies and Fountains”. 2018 Camp Unforgettable

A local summer camp recently started up again, and they’re making sure the kids are taking some responsibility on how to govern themselves. Camp Unforgettable, a summer camp that takes place at Barkley Elementary School, just elected their officials. Sworn in by Phoenixville’s Mayor Peter Urscheler, the oath they took was very similar to the one he took himself when he was elected. Phoenixville Communities That Care and The Phoenixville Recreation Department are partnering to provide a camp atmosphere that combine games, arts and crafts, and sports, along with some special guests, all supervised by an experienced staff. Hot Air Balloon Festival

Attention all Balloonatics! The 12th annual Chester County Balloon Festival is taking flight once more, so come on down and enjoy the ride! Come be a part of a community that’s been around for 235 years! The first working balloon was made with paper-lined silk in 1783, and ever since then people have been captivated by those colorful envelopes of hot air! LEGO Stop Motion Workshop

Do you love LEGO’s? Do you want to know how to make them come alive? The Phoenixville Public Library is hosting a Lego stop-motion workshop on Saturday, June 16th, and Saturday June 23rd. Animator Keville Bowen is running the two-day workshop and will teach the basics of stop-motion animation to teens ranging from 6th grade to 12th grade. Hares Hill Bridge in East Pikeland Township to close for construction

On June 12th, the historic Hares Hill Bridge will close down for construction. The reconstruction project will help rehabilitate the bridge and make much needed improvements to it's structure. The Project will also dedicate a new historic landmark post. The Project is slated to end in late august, and the road will remain closed until then. Being that nearly 5,000 travelers commute through the bridge a day, local traffic is set to be greatly impacted. The road will be shut down and detoured between Camp Council Road and Irish Way. Vanessa Howard Music Studio: Open House and Talent Showcase

Vanessa Howard is a local voice coach and artist development advisor who has opened the doors of her studio for the public to see. Her studio is holding an open house and talent showcase on Saturday, June 16th. The showcase is free and begins at 6, with the showcase starting at 7:30. Tickets for the showcase cost $20. Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA) Summer Basketball League Registrations

Now is your last chance to participate in this summer program! Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA) is hosting its basketball league, and tomorrow is the last day they can accept players. The deadline has been extended to help increase rosters. They are looking for kids ages 7-17 to compete in three age groups: 7-10, 11-13, and 14-17. Tryouts start on the 7th at 6:00PM The opening games are on Father’s Day at Reservoir park in Phoenixville. Games will be played on Sundays throughout June and August.
